Head constable Tambe isn’t having the best of days. His wife slams doors in his face. His little daughter won’t speak to him. His only friends, havaldaars Sawant and Shilwant, feel cheated by him. And to make matters worse, he’s been given nightlong Ganpati visarjan bandobast duty.

This ten minute extravaganza is more than just a short film, it is a multi-layered experience in itself. Tambe, played exceptionally well by Manoj Bajpayee is a Mumbai policeman, juggling many things at once. He appears exhausted and worn out because of the work load and domestic needs. On one hand he is unable to secure admission in a public school for his daughter due to shortage of funds while on other hand is battling a moral dilemma of whether to keep the huge amount of money recovered during a raid and share it among colleagues. Here is a modest policeman who is true to his duty and his family but is struggling at both ends. He appears frustrated from his job while at home is unable to meet eyes with his wife probably due to a sense of incompetence. Amidst all this drama, he is patrolling a visarjan/party night where he catches two people in an altercation. What follows is completely unexpected and would take every viewer by surprise. All the angst, repressed emotions, feelings unexpressed have an outpouring and that is a spectacle to watch. Tambe
dances like no one is watching keeping all his apprehensions, insecurities aside,caring for no body. He goes in a moment of trance and let his limbs do the talking. Manoj Bajpayee is so sublime in his role of Tambe that you could not help but feel sorry for him when he is sad while rejoice in his joy. A video of that performance gets viral on the net and now his job is at stake and when you expect him to breakdown you seem him chuckling while looking at himself on the computer screen. It appears that this is just a prologue and the director Devashish Makhija having previously worked on movies like Black Friday and Bunty aur Babli has a lot more planned up his
sleeves. There are talks that the director and actor duo are in the process of making a feature film based on similar theme so there is a lot more to expect.
